Claire Price is a British visual artist based in Mexico City.
She gained a First in BA History at the University of Oxford followed by MA-level Postgraduate Art at the Royal Drawing School in London. When not in the studio she is a freelance tutor in History and Art and has taught drawing at the British Museum and the Southbank Centre. She has exhibited in London, New York, Mexico City, Bristol and Oaxaca. Group exhibitions include Christie’s London and Christie’s New York. Private collections include HRH The Prince of Wales and philanthropist Sir Michael Moritz. Since graduating in 2013 she has been awarded the Graphic Novel Prize 2013 by the Royal Drawing School, First Food Residency 2015 in Mexico (supported by the British Council and the Mexican Foreign Ministry), the Dumfries House Residency 2014 and 2015 in Scotland. She has been selected for the Threadneedle Prize and the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, where she was featured by Tracey Emin in her ‘Top Picks’ video for the BBC. Throughout January 2015 she displayed work at the Royal Academy of Art beside Michelangelo’s Taddei Tondo and held a pop-up live portrait drawing studio to coincide with the RA’s Moroni exhibition. She currently lives in Mexico City and is a postgraduate student on the Turps Art School correspondence course.
